Rhys Goch ap Richard ab Einion ap Gollwyn was born about 1200. He was "of Glyn-nedd, Blaen-gwrach, Glamorganshire, Wales."[1]
The name of his wife is not known, but he is known to have had at least three children:[2]
- a daughter, married Cynhaethwy ap Herbert ap Godwin
- Rhys Foel, married Llian ferch Cynhaethwy
- Ann, married Rhun of llorch Run in Brithdirt ap Seisyll
